About The Family Star Film
“The Family Star” is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language romantic action drama film, written and directed by Parasuram, and produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles.
Officially announced in February 2023 as “VD11,” marking Vijay Deverakonda’s 11th film as a lead actor, the film’s title was revealed in October 2023. Principal photography began in July 2023, with filming taking place in Hyderabad and New York. Gopi Sundar composed the music for the film.
Initially set for release on Sankranthi, the film’s release was postponed to avoid clashes with other Sankranthi releases. However, upon release, “The Family Star” received negative reviews from critics, who criticized Parasuram’s direction and writing, as well as the weak comedy, predictable plot, soundtrack, and performances by the lead cast. Despite the negative reception, the film grossed ₹19.78 crore at the box office against a budget of ₹50 crore.
The storyline follows Govardhan, a middle-class architect in Hyderabad burdened with financial and family issues. His life takes a turn when he meets Indu, a college student who rents the top level of his house. As they grow close, Govardhan discovers that Indu’s presence is part of her thesis project on middle-class families, leading to heartbreak and conflict between them. Their journey towards reconciliation forms the core of the narrative.
About Vijay Deverakonda
Vijay Deverakonda, born Deverakonda Vijay Sai on May 9, 1989, is a prominent Indian actor and film producer primarily known for his work in Telugu cinema.
